ಹೊಮ್ಮುವೆನು ಕೋಟಿರೂಪದಲಿ ನಾನೆಂದು
ಬೊಮ್ಮನೆಳಸಿದನಂತೆ, ಆಯೆಳಸಿಕೆಯೆ ಮಾಯೆ
ನಮ್ಮಿರವು ಮಾಯೆಯಲಿ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ
ಅರ್ಥ: ಎ೦ತಿಹುದು - ಹೇಗಿರುವುದು, ಅಹುದು (ಹೌದು), ಬೊಮ್ಮ - ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ, ಎಳಸು - ಬಯಸು, ಇರವು - ರೂಪು, ಆಕಾರ
ತಾತ್ಪರ್ಯ: ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಒಬ್ಬ೦ಟಿ ಹೇಗಿರುವುದು ? ಬೇಸರ. ಹೋಗುವೆನು ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪದಲಿ ಎ೦ದು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ಬಯಸಿದನ೦ತೆ. ಆ ಬಯಕೆಯೆ ಮಾಯೆ! ನಾವಿರುವುದು ಆ ಮಾಯೆಯಲಿ.

ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ, ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆ, ಶಿವ, "ನಾನು" - ಈ ಪದಗಳೆಲ್ಲ ಸೂಚಿಸುವುದು ಒಂದನ್ನೇ. A mention of the following mahavakyas in Vedanta perhaps places this verse in Kagga in a context that explains what DVG means when he says Brahma emerged in a crore forms:

ಶಿವೋಹಂ - I am Shiva
ಅ ಯಂ ಆತ್ಮ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ - This Atman is Brahman
ತತ್ ತ್ವಂ ಅಸಿ - You are that
ಅಹಂ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾಸ್ಮಿ - I am Brahma
That by which I am aware of, that which could point at but cannot be pointed at, the consciousness that we experience in each of us, is the Brahma that is referred to.
What you have described sounds more similar to some of the Gita slokas such as Nainam chindanti shastrani etc.
ReplyDeleteDVG's poem in some way looks as simple as trying to answer to a question how this earth was created to his grand or great grand kid!
First image I got in mind when I read this poem was a very colourful picture of some outer universe published in a daily recently. Only a poet can exlaim thus!
For someone too proud of self accomplishments, this poem kind of alerts by saying no matter how big your achievements, your existence itself is result of someone's boredom! So, what if that person gets excited!

I think, the above verse in BGita refers to the same thing as DVG's ಬೊಮ್ಮ. Consciousness is what all this is about. Can we say anything at all in words that makes our grasp of it a little better?

ಅರಿಯದದು ನಮ್ಮೆದೆಯ ಭಾವಗಳನೊರೆಯೆ

ಒರಟುಯಾನವೊ ಭಾಷೆ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ
ಪದಗಳ ಅರ್ಥ:
ಒರೆ - ಒರೆಹಚ್ಚು, ದೋಷ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಮಾಡು, ಶೋಧಿಸಿ ನೋಡು
ಉಲಿ - ಧ್ವನಿ, ಮಾತು; ಯಾನ - ವಾಹನ
ನಮ್ಮೆದೆಯ ಭಾವನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಶೋಧಿಸಿ, ಪರಮಾನುಭವದ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಒಳಕಿವಿಗೆ ಮುಟ್ಟಿಸುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಭಾಷೆಯಿಂದ ಆಗುವಿದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದು ಒಂದು ಒರಟು ವಾಹನ.
